Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a living trust and a will?

A will directs who gets your property but still goes through probate — the public, often lengthy court process. A living trust generally lets your estate pass to your beneficiaries without probate, saving time and cost. We prepare the trust documents at your direction; you decide what goes in it.

Does a living trust avoid probate in California?

That's the main reason people create one — a properly funded revocable living trust generally lets assets pass to your beneficiaries without going through California probate. Whether it's right for you is a legal decision we can't advise on, but if you direct us to prepare one, we handle the documents.

How much does a living trust cost compared to an attorney?

Preparing your trust documents through an LDA typically costs a fraction of law-firm estate-planning fees. After your free intake we quote a flat price up front — no hourly billing.

What documents come with a living trust package?

Typically the Revocable Living Trust itself, a Pour-Over Will, a Certification of Trust, and a Schedule of Assets — and we can prepare a trust transfer deed if real estate goes into the trust. You direct what to include.
